New iPhone application for Nissan cars

Need to check the battery level of your electric-vehicle? There’s an app for that. Need to see how hot is inside your vehicle so you can turn on the AC before you get inside? Well, there’s an app for that too – thanks to Nissan. Along with its new electric-vehicle platform announced yesterday , Nissan demonstrated a new iPhone app at its facility in Yokosuka, Japan that links to its electric-car’s IT system to check the charge status of the on-board lithium-ion battery. Using the app, owners will be able to dial into their electric car and monitor the charging of their cars.

The app could prove useful when electric-cars are parked at public charging stations and owners want to check in and see what the status of their battery-level is before getting back to driving. Along with monitoring battery levels, owners will be able to see other detailed information such as the remaining time required for the full charge and the approximate cost they will have to pay at a charging station. Other features include checking the interior temperature of the car and allowing users to turn on the air conditioning system to cool the inside before they get in. Nissan’s new electric-car is scheduled to debut on August 2nd. Nissan EV Versa Prototype (EV-11) : – By: Kap Shah Source: PCWorld (via AllCarsElectric )

Tip to unlock iPhone

The iPhone Dev team had released an updated version of UltraSn0w last week to unlock iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS which they believed would resolve all random issues that were reported by users.

They have just published a post in which they have confirmed that the latest version of UltraSn0w 0.9 has fixed most of the issues reported by iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users.

They have also provided more details on the list of fixes in case you are still seeing some problem and provided tips on how to resolve them wherever applicable.

Here is the list of issues fixed in UltraSn0w 0.9 and tips and clarifications to resolve them if you are still facing an issue:

* Unusual battery depletion is almost always caused by people choosing to “Restore from backup” instead of “Setup as new iPhone” when iTunes asks you. This isn’t caused by either the jailbreak or the unlock, but it’s a common 3.0 snafu. The fix is to just re-run the official 3.0 restore and choose “Setup as new” this time. Your music and apps and all that will still be synced, but you’ll get rid of any conflicting wifi, bluetooth, or carrier settings. Then just re-run redsn0w and install ultrasn0w.
* Remember, ultrasn0w works with hacktivated phones too, but don’t outsmart redsn0w into thinking you don’t need hacktivation! If you don’t plan on using an official sim, don’t activate via iTunes with such a sim. Just keep your unofficial sim at all times and let redsn0w and ultrasn0w handle hacktivation :)
* T-Mobile in the USA doesn’t use the 3G frequencies that the iPhones support, so turn off 3G in Settings->General->Network. (Some T-Mobile territories gracefully hand down to Edge mode, but most do not).
* Certain unofficial plans have limitations on whether you can make calls and use data at the same time. That’s not unlock-related.
* Some people have installed previous versions of ultrasn0w using non-standard techniques. While the ultrasn0w 0.9 update should have removed all previous versions of ultrasn0w, these users may have outsmarted our removal. So make sure you don’t still see /usr/bin/ultrasn0w present if you’re at ultrasn0w 0.9 (which doesn’t have such a binary anymore).
* If you don’t need or plan to update to ultrasn0w 0.9 from a previous version, you can avoid having that red badge over Cydia by removing repo666 as a Cydia source. Don’t worry, you can always add it back later :)

These are Apple's best non-holiday quarterly revenue and earnings. Apple sold 5.2 million iPhones in the third quarter and reported that the response to the new iPhone 3GS is enormous.

Here are some of the highlights of Apple's conference call updates and Q & A session (iPhone and iPod Touch related):

5.2 * one million iPhones sold in the third quarter and reported that the response to the new iPhone 3GS is so overpowering that they are not able to iPhone 3GS demand. Apple is working on the issue.
* Significant acceleration of sales thanks to price the 8GB iPhone 3G model.
* IPhone produced 1.689 billion dollars of revenue sequentially by 37 percent in units and 11 percent of revenues, and annual results are not less than 626 percent in units sold and 303 percent increase in revenue.
* IPod Touch has a very good quarter, thanks to the App Store, which now has more than 65,000 iPhone Apps, iPhone, and users have downloaded more than 1.5 billion of iPhone Apps.
* IPhone is a production of "growing interest" thanks to iPhone OS 3.0 and iPhone, which adds 3GS hardware data encryption.
* JD Power ranked iPhone highest in satisfaction with the business users.

iPhone 3GS Encryption is useless!!

3-quarter 2009 conference call, Apple Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook said during:

"We grow with the release of iPhone 3.0, and they showed interest in the 3GS part due to the new iPhone hardware encryption, and better security."

But according to the iPhone hacking expert Jonathan Zdziarski 3GS hardware encryption capabilities of the new iPhone, "the lack of protection of sensitive information.

Jonathan "NerveGas" Zdziarski double - as the iPhone (for the previous firmware) to run and the boat for the iPhone that you limit the possibility to use the iPhone the EDGE network is a laptop and hack hacking announced Earn Internet surfing. He also uses the iPhone open source tool chain, the unofficial native iPhone applications, the development of iPhone Open Application Development book was published.

Encryption with the new iPhone, according to him a couple 3GS freeware program that can be cracked in two minutes.

That he was talking about:

"It's all yours, right next to the secret message, and keep a secret decoder ring is the same kind." I do not think that we [developers] are not encrypted before it is too low, why is it a major threat to security and difficult to explain is carried out. "

He is also a generation that the iPhone and iPhone 3G (iPhone generation 2) and not with the hardware encryption capabilities of the iPhone easily and makes no claim to access to sensitive information. If the iPhone Gets a thief, he is using the freeware program that is very him to force the user the information easy to believe you can draw.

Encryption is very easy to Zdziarski Wired.com, where he did not interfere with the iPhone is to access data 3GS the technology was demonstrated.

He also removed the remote smartcard SLM useful to criminals, the iPhone is not the only aim of the steal of the user access to sensitive data via the remote control to the command Wipe Wipe said.

So my advice to application developers, but the iPhone applications, iPhone, iPhone 3GS than rely on the hardware encryption capabilities is to add extra security.

"If the security of their business, then rely on your application will be very unstable. Apple as the technical [3GS iPhone can correct], a piece of the encryption, but it is not useful for security."

Apple claims that hackers are now released for comment. Apple is looking at how you talk about them will be interesting, however, these serious allegations.

As always we have in the comments below, please let us know your thoughts.
