iPhone's next GPU

Graphics Processing Unit or GPU, any modern computer equipment is an important part of the device, which receives the major 3D graphics processor. At CES 2010 last week, the Imagination Technologies, the chip maker spilled beans on the GPU for the next generation iPhone.

Discovered Imagination PowerVR GPU design SGX545 main CES, which is the only mobile phone capable GPU OpenGL 3.2 and DirectX 10 effects on the level. SGX545 the support OpenCL, which means that the cycle of unused processing chip can be used to offload work from the main processor. Multithreading-SGX545 is also aware of and may provide another leap quickly when used with multi-processor designs, as the main ARM Cortex-A9.

Imagination noted that manufactured test chip for an unnamed partner "leadership" which may very well be Apple. Cupertino Children PowerVR graphics used in any iPhone and iPod touch, and many experts believe the next generation of devices can be powered by a variant of the ARM Cortex-A9. Apple is also an investor in the imagination, buying 9.5% stake in the chip manufacturer in 2008 and 2009. So it is very likely that SGX545 churning from other pixels manually buy from Apple Store.
